The museum context posed a unique challenge:
Users are already immersed so any digital layers must be effortless and non-disruptive. Balancing discovery, navigation, and clarity within a low-distraction experience required thoughtful trade-offs.
A key challenge was scoping the feature set while maintaining a non-disruptive experience. If I were to revisit the project, I would invest more time in early mapping and concept design exploration to reduce complexity during later iterations.
If I could go back, I’d love to:
- Take a closer look at exploring design solutions that live in the museum or the possibility of a non digital/mobile-centric experience
- Invest more time in the map, integrating interactivity and ensure it feels like it ‘follows’ the user’s journey
Designing for the museum context taught me to prioritize essential interactions and grounding design decision in real user behaviours. These lessons will shape how I approach future projects, especially those that support real-world experiences.
